Congratulations, You're Buying A Porsche!
Well, actually, it's not for you. And you're helping buy six.
Oh, and did I mention you're also paying for 16 Jags, 144 Mercedes and 273 BMWs?
Don't worry, our Labour government just KNEW you'd want to contribute; so they've already docked your pay (through PAYE) to help impoverished Porsche owners.
And to think that people say our beloved leader, Gordon Brown, is out of touch!
The Car Scrappage scheme is a success! And I for one intend to congratulate our office cleaner on her selfless decision to help downtrodden Porsche buyers.
Table: Total vehicle registrations by brand through the scrappage incentive scheme.

Tax Freedom Day 2006
Having been the government's unpaid slave in January, February, March etc, you can now, finally, start working for your own benefit.
But then again, if you had any living expenses in January, February, March etc, you'll probably still working to pay the costs of paying the government. Given the proportion of salary usually spent on transport and other work-related expenses, you'll probably a slave to the government for half the year.
You don't mind spending 20+ years of your life working as an unpaid slave, working to buy the votes of the feckless, lazy and irresponsible do you?
The politicians who produce nothing, steal your money and spend it bribing voters are entirely unselfish. In fact, the BBC tells me they are morally virtuous.
Just look at the calibre of our politicians. Just look at them. Is keeping each of these individuals in jobs worth a billion pounds PER PERSON, PER YEAR?
Where the hell is Guy Fawkes when you need him?

Happy Independence Day!
As a Brit, I'm sick of ever rising British taxes and meddling British governments.
So too was America, on July 4th 1776. They revolted, and they've never looked back.
To my friends across the Atlantic, Happy Independence Day. You lucky, lucky bastards.
Some of us here in Britain are still waiting for our revolution.
Of course, if the revolution does finally arrive, British government collaborators* will be the first to be shot.
Tragically, my dear brother will be among them. Still such things can't be helped.
Progress is never without cost...
* British government collaborators prefer to be called 'civil servant's by their slaves
